Have you got ADHD?

Understanding ADHD is a step towards acknowledging it.

Deciding whether you, or a family member, has ADHD requires careful assessment and determination by a specialist, usually a psychiatrist, or paediatrician.Assessment is based on extensive data of developmental, learning, social and behavioural areas, drawn from a range of sources.

Healthcare professionals use criteria guidelines from the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, Fifth Edition (DSM-5), to help diagnose ADHD. You can view the criteria in a shortened form for your information.

Tests which can be used include psychological tests such as the WISC_R and the Connors Rating Scale.
